As a teacher, Jesus demonstrated God's love by loving others. Keeping Jesus’ commands is showing our love for His teachings. To Demonstrate Our Love for Jesus’ Teachings It meant He wouldn't be physically there, but He told them to continue to love others to reflect God's love. This was His preparation for His absence. Jesus talked about God's calling for each of their lives, as well as ours. It is necessary to keep God's commandments in order to demonstrate the disciples' love for God. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full (John 15:1011). If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. Jesus did not take these commands lightly. We will abide in God’s love and our joy will be full. His last words to His friends focused on love while He shared a meal with them. Later, in John 14:15, he says, "If you love me, keep my commandments." Jesus tells his disciples in John 13:34 to love one another. There are many promises linked to keeping the Lord’s commandments. To keep the commandments means to know them, to observe them, to do them, and to cherish them. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things. Sometimes the answers to our prayers don’t come when or how we expect, and we may be tempted to give up or stop being obedient. In other words, we show our love to Heavenly Father by keeping His commandments. It does not insist on its own way it is not irritable or resentful it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. The Savior Jesus Christ gave us a key when He said, If ye love me, keep my commandments. Love is patient and kind love does not envy or boast it is not arrogant or rude.
